About Designs Direct Publishing
In 2005, Sater Design Collection partnered with Donald A. Gardner architects and created Designs Direct Publishing. Our magazines, including “Designer Dream Homes” and “DDH Presents” are distributed nationally through retailers such as Barnes and Noble, Books-A-Million (BAM) and Lowe’s Home Improvement Centers. It is the only remaining print magazine featuring home plans in the US.
Donald A. Gardner Architects, Inc.
Don Gardner graduated from Clemson University with a Bachelor of Architecture degree. He served in the Army Corps of Engineers and became a registered architect, gaining a range of architectural experience. Founded in 1978, Donald A. Gardner Architects, Inc. began as a part-time business. By 1984, it became a full-time company. Now, this full-service residential firm has spawned Donald A. Gardner Interactive, LLC and Donald A. Gardner, Incorporated. Committed to excellence, Donald A. Gardner Architects, Inc. has won numerous industry awards for its house plans, has been showcased in multiple Parade of Homes, St. Jude Dream Home Giveaways and national magazine publications.
Sater Design Collection, Inc.
With almost 40 years of experience, Dan Sater II is a Certified Professional Building Designer, Certified Green Professional, an active member and past national president of the American Institute of Building Design (AIBD). In 1984 The Sater Group was established in an effort to combine quality designs with more affordable pre-drawn house plans. In 1998 Dan published his first house plan book. It was a great success and has been followed up by more than a dozen other books. The Sater Design Collection's website has almost 500 house plans available, many are award-winning plans.
